About us

This two-storey corner building was rebuilt in the early 20th century. Its predecessor is shown on an advert printed in 1898, with a hanging sign for the Crown and a large clock on the façade of the adjoining property. During the 19th century, the Crown was one of the town’s three ‘principal inns’ and also a ‘posting house’. It is listed in the Universal British Directory of 1793–8, when George Savage was the innkeeper.

Just another wetherspoon's . Usual food selection. Very busy when visited on Sunday, but still served quickly and very little wait for the food to be served. No car park to be had . Parking is wherever you can find it round and about in Knaresborough centre.

Plenty of seating available. The ambience is good. Toilets facilities are clean and spacious. It's definitely worth a visit whilst visiting Knaresborough.

This was a great pub to get a meal from, with a vintage design contributed by the frames and windows all around! The counter is well-presented, the lighting is beautiful and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed an American Cheeseburger with chips and Pepsi Max comfortably at a clean table, although the beef was slightly overcooked.

Good Friday and they've let themselves down big style. My mum wanted a small fish and chips, but did I order this from the Starters menu? This was served on one of their smaller plates, I cannot believe that they even served it to a table. Wetherspoons you ought to be ashamed!

Lovely old building which invites you in to this friendly busy Wetherspoons. Service was quick using the table app and staff were very polite.Food as always in each chain is very good value for money with both our meals getting a free drink thrown in. Only negative was the downstairs decor it lacked the usual wow factor that you expect. The toilets were so much grander than the bar!!!!Well worth a visit thou!!!!!
