About us

Cracking good pub which is under threat of redevelopment by its pubco owners into housing. A group called "Save Our Swan" are trying to save it from that fate. Extremely well run by Andy who is a friendly and hardworking manager.

Popped in for lunch whilst on our way to Filey. This is a real gem. Really friendly staff and locals. Our dog made himself at home. We had steak in ale pie. It was a good sized portion really good quality. For a non-local, we loved it. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Would recommend.

Although the rooms were small and quirky,it us a very old pub, they were clean, It's a very traditional pub,not rowdy or sweary. The landlords and staff were friendly and not overpowering. The food was great,you won't go away hungry. The village is well catered for and pretty

Great pub with good menu and friendly staff. Busy but managed to find us a table, would recommend booking. Menu had good choice and we were not left hungry by the portions

Got to the pub at 7.36 hoping to have dinner. Saw few people tucking into meals on the way in. When asked for a menu I was told they stopped serving. We had a drink and can't fault the service but to stop serving food that early is not great. I know small businesses are struggling, we saw a sign on the wall complaining about card charges (we paid cash) so clearly times are hard. Why turn away paying customers? It's just a beginning of our holiday, pub is close to our accommodation, we would have been back for another meal have things been different...

Had planned a meal out, but we ordered a takeaway as our dog was spooked by a thunderstorm. Food was ready in 15 mins, which was amazing, and it was extremely good value for money. Portions are huge! The steak & ale pie is homemade and a stand out dish. Lovely atmosphere in the pub when picking up.
