My partner and I stayed at The Chequers Inn for two nights for a friend's wedding in the area. Could not begin to rate this establishment highly enough for it's rooms and food, both of which exceeded expectations in every way. Amazing breakfast too! I'd experienced a nasty accident earlier that day when I'd dropped a cup of boiling tea over my foot. When my partner asked staff for an ice block the owners jumped into action, going so far as to provide burn cream and a bandage. They frequently checked I was okay throughout the rest of our stay. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
This is our second time staying at Chequers Inn and they have been brilliant both times!! The food is great - amazing portions , great taste. I had the chicken fajitas- yum! The rice pudding was the best we have ever eaten . The room was lovely and clean. Modern bathroom and clean throughout. Also a very dog friendly environment, which we love. The staff are very friendly, Richard was very welcoming and remembered us from the last time we stayed !! Would definitely visit again.
Stayed here for a week whilst working in the area. Clean room that was dog friendly and had everything I needed for the week in a nice village location. Very friendly staff who were very accommodating during my stay, even made me a packed lunch when I had to leave before breakfast. Good evening meals at a very affordable price and with portion size you certainly won't be going hungry! Would happily recommend and stay at again
We stayed one night while attending Croft race circuit and so pleased we chose the Chequers. Lovely, friendly pub. Staff are so welcoming . The rooms are very comfortable and clean. We had steak and lamb shank, both were delicious and generous portions, as was desert. Breakfast was superb as well. We'll definitely stay again. Thanks.
Stopped in for a meal on a Saturday evening, pub was busy but staff were very fast and helpful despite the crowds. Food was excellent, large portions especially for the price. Will certainly be visiting again when in the area. Make sure to reserve a table especially when there is an event at the nearby race track as all tables were booked for the night when we arrived.
