Hull's oldest licensed premises, serving since 1729. A characteristic pub full of history, cask ales, spirits, single malts & award winning pies from Fields of Anlaby.
Well known for its real ales & ciders, Ye Olde Black Boy dates back to the 1700's. With rumours of being haunted this pub has a function room upstairs. We have various offers on all the time making us stand out from all the rest. Situated in the heart of Hull's Old Town we are conveniently placed for anyone to drop in.
This was a lovely pub for drinking, set in an ancient building as the classic name indicates! The design includes architecture along the ceiling, vintage walls and posters that channel those vibes too. Counter is very neat and staff were friendly, who served me a pint of Mango Cider at comfortable seating!
Didn't have any food so I can't write about it.But if the rest of this great pub is anything to go by;then it will be lovely food.Service was great as was the great choice of beers etc on sale.Cannot fault black boy atall. Will definitely be back soon. Well done to all involved
Always a nice place to be. Warm and friendly welcome by staff who are always pleasant even when the place is full and the bar is busy. David the security is lovely and deals with situations very professionally. A lovely place to have a drink with lots of history.
Ye Olde Black Boy (grade ll listed) Is a stunning unspoiled pub on high street. The building dating back to the 1700s, in victorian times it was a wine merchants. It was refitted in 1926, the wine merchants office became the front smoke room and the warehouse became the rear bar. A passageway down the left hand side leads to a cosy front parlour with a serving Hatch and a large bar at the back with a model railway running round the ceiling. There are also several rooms upstairs. Always a good selection of top quality hand pulled real ales served by a very friendly and welcoming staff. One of my top five favorite pubs in Hull.
Haven't rated food as didn't have any, not sure if it serves food. Lovely little bar, loved the decor n history of the place.
