This is a go-to for when visiting our mum in snaith We have had some beautiful meals. Service is always great. Portions are more than generous and taste beautiful. Mum and friends go on Sunday and love the Sunday lunches I have yet to try those.
I'm a Google guide and I happened to come across this pub and it has a wow factor staff are so nice and rooms are spot on . This place is worth staying at so friendly good size rooms and good food well recommended x
My friend and I had booked a night here, been booked for around 2 months in advance. The advertised price was £35 bargain or so we thought! Having the booking confirmed by a 3rd party, the receipt confirming the balance paid in full and nothing outstanding. We arrive and are told that the price we paid isn’t correct and “just a deposit” even through there is absolutely no mention of this! They then try to ask for a further £35! Even on their website the fee that night is £55! We are told we won’t find anything cheaper or for £35 (spoiler alert… we did) We were obviously annoyed and trying to sort a new place to stay as we refuse to stay somewhere that cons people out of more money, especially as they would of had ample opportunity to contact us to say there is a further fee to pay. We heard one staff member say they don’t want “our type around here” we don’t know what they meant by this but it was a rude comment. There was no apology made and I feel they do this regularly, so beware when booking. They also commented that they were very quiet… well I’m not surprised really. If our booking had of been honoured we would have been buying drinks in the pub and food, I can only assume this pub is doing so well as to be able turn away customers. Also if it had of been a nice place to stay we would have brought repeat custom. I do find it very odd to be asked to pay double but their web site states a cheaper price. You don’t go to Tesco and buy a pint of milk, pay for it only to be told no you have to pay again on exit! Most people would probably pay the extra “just because” but I would advise if this happens to you just go elsewhere, we found a great deal on another hotel and had a great stay. Could have done without the messing around tho.
Stayed for 1 night as we were attending a wedding just up the road. Staff were really friendly and gave us our keys early as we wouldn’t be getting back until very late. The room is very basic but we got what we paid for, we just needed a place to sleep. The pub had a car park and some pool tables inside to keep us occupied whilst we waited for our friends to arrive. The barmaid was very nice to chat to.
The pub itself was very nice . Lovely staff and amazing food . The rooms are not in the pub but outside where there is a large carpark . The room decor isn't the best and the bathroom smelt a bit damp which stopped me showering. And a very uncomfortable bed . Could have been cleaner I would say it was cheap but I was charged an extra £20 for my daughter even though I booked the room for 3 . But all in all it did its job and the food just about made up for it
