We are situated in the picturesque village of Beachamwell on the edge of Thetford Forest and the Brecks, close to the market towns of Swaffham (Which has a fantastic Saturday market), Downham Market and Kings’ Lynn. Just 45 minutes away is Norwich and the Norfolk Broads, which leads onto the north Norfolk coast.
A short drive away is Wells Next the Sea, Hunstanton, Burnham Market and many other coastal gems. Great Danes Country Inn is perfectly situated for visitors to RAF Marham.
Beachamwell is surrounded by superb countryside walks, cycle paths and local attractions and is close enough to visit the eastern region’s main towns and cities making The Great Danes ideal for both leisure and business guests – whatever the time of year.
Our Accommodation is all en-suite and tastefully furnished, following a recent extensive refurbishment program and you will find our bar and restaurant are just what’s needed for a quiet drink or a pleasant meal.

Clean rooms. Food was good but with limited variety. Host was quite pleasant. Would be a nice out of the way place in summer but not in winter, with narrow Country lanes.
A lovely idyllic quiet hotel, the food was great, and the owners were very kind and attentive to us. Highly recommended
Had two lovely nights here,comfy rooms with large showers and lots of hot water .nice selection of evening meals in the restaurant all cooked fresh from scratch.well stocked bar with drinks for all tastes.filling continental breakfast which sets you up for the day.very friendly owners. A lovely quiet place to stay within reach of Norfolks attractions. Will definitely be returning next year ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My Wife and I came up for a weeding. Only stayed one night but from the moment we arrive we were made to feel very welcome. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Well stocked T tray including Decaf tea & coffee. We enjoyed a nightcap and a chat with the owners after the wedding. Very friendly. We prefer not to eat meat and eat a more plant based breakfast. They provided oat milk and plant based butter to. We would definitely stay again. Thank you x
We have just had the most lovely relaxing three nights staying at the The Great Danes Inn Beachamwells. We were made very welcome on arrival by Mrs Gransden. Our room slept three and was very spacious airy and light with a big shower room ensuite, we had our small dog with us who was made welcome and even given a treat on arrival. I believe that there are only a couple of rooms that are for visitors with dogs and these are on the ground floor with a garden. Our room was clean, if a little dated and as a personal preference I prefer white cotton sheets. The continental breakfast was anything but, it offered so much more!! All free to help yourself and with the added bonus of poached or scrambled eggs. The cooked breakfast was very well presented and set us up for the day and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meals were all home made and delicious and my husband assured me that the bar was well stocked and the beer very good. We will definitely like to stay there again.
