Only pub in the area. Handy parking in Sainsbury's next door. 2nd tier Spoonz, but perfectly adequate. Nice staff. Probably due a bit of a refurb. (The building, not the staff!) Can get v crowded on busy nights e.g Thursday, have sometimes been unable to get a table.
Had deluxe steak, the chips were nice and hot unlike the rest of the cold steak and onion rings, I simply won’t eat here again. I read previous reviews and wished I had believed them. I know they were correct now.
We quite like popping in to the Nonsuch Inn for a drink or quick meal but will be heading elsewhere after our last visit. We walked in after a meal at a local restaurant but was approached by the bouncer who rudely said 'she's not getting served here' while pointing to my girlfriend. When we asked why, he said she was drunk and couldn't walk properly (a lie). She has recently had an extensive operation and has a back issue (which we told him about). The bar staff backed him up and so we all left. The situation was farcicle and the bouncer was just rude. Won't be going there again.
Drinks are good. Food is terrible. A pizza arrived cold - this was sent back and then found out to be a wrong order which was rejected by another table. Medium well done steak was pink throughout. Chips on all 3 meals were cold. Dirty plates on lots of tables not been collected. Lots of flies on the bar and all the dirty uncollected plates.
The food was not what we have come to expect, it seems like the curry had been left under the heat lamp for a while, went large so had the samosa and onion bargi, but had the plain naan as from past experience the garlic tends to be soggy. Had to send my bargi back as it was uncooked in the middle, the replacement was not any better, had to return it for a second time only to be dissapointed for a 3rd time. Worst food in any of the 52 wetherspoons i have visited. If not for the good service by Lawrence and his colleague i would only have awarded 3 stars.
