Found this inn by chance and I have to say would highly recommend it. For an off the main Road inn the food was very nice, tasty and hot - compliments to the chef ! This is not just normal pub grub good selection of meals and very well priced the staff were very welcoming and polite and not hassling me during my meal asking if everything was ok Will definitely go back. The only negative thing I would say is the place mats were bevelled and slidy which made your plate move around but that can easily be rectified by putting your plate directly in the table ( I know it’s a silly negative comment) Also the history that the inn has it’s not advertised enough and could probably make it an attraction if they put Burns memorabilia around the walls etc But that’s just my opinion 😃
Lovely pub with fantastic food. We went a walk to the Waterfalls and Smugglers Cave and called at the pub on our way back. Excellent service from the landlady who welcomed us and our 3 dogs. We ordered the lasagne and the steak pie which was well presented and delicious. The lasagne was served with chips salad and coleslaw, the pie served chips and vegetables. Both meals superb value for money and very high quality. We enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you from Andy Karen and the dogs 🐕 😀
The No 5 Inn: A Hidden Gem! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a fantastic dinner here after an invigorating hike to Smugglers cave in Alva. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy. My only small suggestion would be to improve the ventilation; the fog was so thick you could almost cut it with a knife! 😅 Nevertheless, I'll be back for more great meals! 🍽️🥂
Scottish burger lasagne kids macaroni & prawn cocktail with chicken for starters couple a pint cola & some apple juice service 10/10 food 10/10 apart from 1 late pint £62 for the lot decent priced lovely food thanks again!
Popped in after a walk along the Dollar Glen, Recieved a great welcome and they had Birra Morreti on tap 👍 the food was freshly cooked and very reasonable in price, a hidden Gem in Alva, I'd be well happy if No5 Inn was my local. We enjoyed our meal and will be back if walking in the area again👌🚶♂️
