The Mile Castle opened on the 11th Dec. 2009 and has been a great success. Serving fantastic wines, beers and ales as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come in and meet our friendly staff and enjoy the atmosphere!.
Pub was very quiet, so I'm assuming I got breakfast items that were left in a "hot" hold. Everything was stone cold, apart from the black pudding. No check back to return my food as the staff were just chatting behind the bar. Somehow wetherspoons food continues to drop even further in quality. Considering a slice of toast costs more than a sausage, this should speak volumes to what they are actually serving to customers.
This was a fantastic pub for a drink, spanning a massive three floors! Lift makes navigation easier, counter is stylish and the design harbors Newcastle history. I enjoyed a Zombie pitcher, sitting comfortably in the second floor!
Went here to meet a friend for breakfast, this is a massive pub with multiple floors; lifts are available. It’s a standard Wetherspoons as you would expect, the app is decent to allow ordering to the table and service was fast and friendly. We had the unlimited refills of hot drinks where you just pay for a mug and then refill it as much as you can. I then had the traditional breakfast but added some extra items; ordering through the app is really simple. Again the service was fast and friendly. There is free Wi-Fi available, we found the tables quite small but having asked were allowed to put 2 together. This was a massive help as we had quite a few people in our group. Based on my experience I would recommend the Wetherspoon pub for food if you want cheap, cheerful, edible but that’s where the requirements end. The amount of baked beans you get on the breakfast is really stingy, considering beans are not expensive this is a puzzle? Staff were great!
Big Wetherspoons, there are 350 numbered tables here spread over three floors with bars on each floor. Free WiFi inside and as usual can use the App to order everything and have it brought to your table, I do like this facility. Food was good and I didn't wait long for service despite it being very busy.
Sorry, this should be the Red Lion Hotel, Doncaster, the Mile Castle ain't bad either, both Spoons! a Spoons. Loads of atmosphere. Good dining area and very large patio. Next to Market Square so very lively. Wife and I both 73 but never felt 'out of it'.
