Had meal for two today, Wednesday, cheap wine day!, food was lovely, staff very helpful, Ethan delivered excellent customer service, manager very helpful too, wine and drinks always good here. Thanks very much to all the staff at The New Stepney!
The Hungry Horse is a bustling place, however the staff give you that personal touch. Always polite, well dressed. I have come here with my family regularly and the consistency and quality of the food is excellent, prices are reasonable. I book my table but they try their best to accommodate you if you haven't.
Genuinely one of my favourite places to go for food. Warm welcome by friendly staff every time. Comfy and good atmosphere. And the food is great and good value too. Highly recommend. Easy parking and public transport too. Just on the edge of town centre.
Indifferent staff. Tables left uncleared and dirty. Food very poor. Cheeseburger with tiny amount of cheese. Mac and cheese was basically a bowl of runny cheese sauce and non existent pasta. Onion rings not cooked properly. Waitress failed to tell us we had to order at the bar so that delayed things and if they bring food to you surely cutlery should be brought to you too. Very poor experience and one i will NOT repeat. Far better places to eat locally than there
This was honestly upsetting, me and my dad wanted to try something new. Honestly this doesn’t even deserve 3 to almost 4 stars. This establishment needs to be shut down. Once I walked in I could tell this place was dirty. There’s multiple reasons why, to start off once you walked in there was a distinct smell of urine almost everywhere. I thought this was a restaurant not a public restroom. To add on with hygiene there was flies almost everywhere . It felt like I was Oliver Twist trying to eat any food without any care for the preparation or where it came from. It was atrocious. The staff was another thing. Never in my life would I think I would experience a waitress with no shame touching her rear end. When you sit down you are greeted with a lovely table, I think they love to clean using pritt sticks it was extremely sticky. Now for the customer service I was heavily disappointed. For people coming for the first time there wasn’t much explanation of the system. If you never have been here before you are expected to grab almost everything by yourself. We sat down for 10 minutes waiting for a waiter to the point my disabled dad had to walk by himself to the counter which is a fuss on itself to order. After that the food came in around 10 minutes which was quite odd due to we ordered 2 meals. As I looked at my meal you could tell it was microwaved and not prepared well. My chips had a brown liquid on it from how it was prepared most likely in the same area as the steak, the steak was like chewing into a leather belt I almost choked once. The only decent part was the onion rings, although they were 100% from the freezer. Once the food came we sat down for 10 minutes eating with our hands due to our waiter didn’t mention we had to grab our own cutlery. It was quite alarming due to I thought it was common hospitality to do so. In general I would heavily recommend not coming here. It’s dirty, loud and the food is attrocious. Save your money go to Mc Donalds. 👍
