Loverly pub with great atmosphere, good selection of lager and ales. Food was good, reasonably priced and good quality.

It was a second time for us ... we have to drive approximately 15 minutes to get to New Inn. The pub is oozing an atmosphere of country contentment ... a simple decor and wellies in the corner ... plus the hearty food - a sophisticated sea bass with samphire or down delicious robust steak ... 😋... we will back ...

Recent visit was for a few beers and a curry. Beers were nice (good selection) and the curry was good. What makes the place though is the staff. Really looked after me and you can't beat that.

On recommendation from a friend we took my father there tonight for his birthday. Beer excellent, food excellent and service to match. We had the whitebait, griddled asparagus, pate and the goats cheese followed by a rib eye steak, pie of the day, the burger, fish and chips and ham egg and chips. 2 desserts were consumed, the panna cota and the tiramisu, All the food was very fresh, chips excellent and hot and crispy, unlike many places where they are the let down. Clearly a talented chef in the kitchen. We will be back.

Quintessential, well used, English village pub in the heart of beautiful Abthorpe. My wife and I were staying locally for a couple of nights and booked ourselves in for evening meals., The warmth of welcome by Linda, the staff and the regulars was lovely, especially towards our woofer, Millie. The choice of Hook Norton Ales were right up my street and the wine selection superb. What we weren't expecting was the choice and quality of the food served. Absolutely outstanding, the portions are large but that didn't detract from the flavour and freshness of the ingredients used. Worth noting that weekly trips are made to Billingsgate market (orders taken for the local community), so varied seafood features on the menu. First night we shared an asparagus starter followed by Short Rib of Beef and my wife had the Billingsgate Mussels Mariniere, followed by gorgeous homemade Tiramisu. Second night. Scallop starter, Chicken Ham & Leek Pie and my wife enjoyed the mussels so much the first time around that she had them again. Very, very happy. No wonder this pub won the award for Midlands in 2019. We look forward so much to visiting again.
