Lunchtime pint on our walk from Nottingham to Solihull along the Grand Union. Ate our sandwiches by the lock. Lovely pub.
Nine of us dropped in for Saturday lunch without booking. Great range of menu choices - some of us had baguettes, others sausage & mash, or ham & eggs. Speedy service and tasty food. One comment - sausages were not cooked brown all round, there were pale areas. Selection of good beers, too!
Lovely canal side pub next to the A5 so road and boat travellers abound. Wonderful smiley barmaid welcome who just bounded around with a natural ability, (rather than your typical grunting oik) lovely pub food at competitive prices and a decent pint of Pedrigree bitter π. Plenty of tables inside and canal side seating too, right next to a lock. Mooring wise we walked past quite a few private moorings to the west to get to the pub and after found a delightful canal/antique shop to the east.
Great pub to watch the world go by and enjoy a great meal or just a pint and some nibbles. The added bonus being the stupid boaters that come by on hire boats, you will be sure to get a laugh as they completely mess up the locks! π€£π₯οΈπ₯οΈπ₯οΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπΆπΆπΆπ’π’π’π’πΆ
Dog friendly nice little pub! Found it a little pricy on food/drink (pint Β£4.40-90, ham egg and chips Β£10 and sandwich Β£8.50 with chips). Lovely location though and I would go back
