This is the way a village pub should be!! Great service, good food, a first class owner. Lucky Worstead.

Superbly located for visiting attractions in Norfolk. Beaches, market towns, historic sites etc all in easy reach. We stayed in the 2 bedroom self catering converted barn. Perfect. Spotlessly clean throughout, bed linen and towels so fresh. Shower rooms were like new. Ate at the white lady pub on fish and chip night, great food. Very friendly place and landlord very welcoming and happy to help. Would definitely go back to stay. Highly recommend.

We arrived for a 3 night stay at The White Lady and arrived at the front of the property, which looked drab & uninviting. As we arrived, the front door was opened and we were greeted by Lloyd who was very polite & friendly, showed us the Horatio Nelson room we had booked. The room was spacious & clean, as was the bathroom with its roll top bath & separate shower. However the bathroom had a hole in the ceiling, the toilet roll holder was broken & the "toiletries" provided was a part used bottle of liquid soap. The bedroom did have sufficient wardrobe & drawer space, the bed was firm but comfortable. Whilst the provision of tea, coffee, milk etc were sufficient for our 3 night stay there were no biscuits as listed in the booklet provided. We dined in, on 2 of the nights but the menu was a little limited, but the food was enjoyable & well cooked The staff were helpful & friendly but apart from the barman & chef appeared untrained. At breakfast, there was no printed menu so you had to ask what you could have. On the first morning, we were only offered a full English, & to ask for orange juice, tea & toast. Second morning there was no staff other than the chef, who took the breakfast order, provided a 4 pint bottle of milk for our cereal, which turned out to be rancid & was replaced with another 4 pint bottle. On the third morning we were informed by a very young waitress we could have with our breakfast, croissants & pastries but who return a few minutes later to be told that they were not available. On one of the evenings we had considered taking our drinks outside to the garden area but on closer inspection, the benches appeared unkempt, chairs were dirty and the garden area generally unkempt, so we returned inside. Like a previous comment, the owner was away on holiday. In our opinion both the place itself & rooms were in need of tlc, & the whilst the staff were polite & friendly needed training.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Had a roast. Very good and quick service. Food was OK. The ambience was more roadside cafe than country pub. But it filled the gap.

The food was good, and staff were fine but certain basic errors cost extra stars - food arrived without cutlery, and wine order incorrect. However, I would be happy to return at a later date.
