Really good place, Number 1 pub for sport in Wallasey no question! Went in for the game on Wednesday night and the atmosphere was excellent, good selection of real ale and craft ipa too!
Went for Christmas dinner with family, had a lovely afternoon, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and hot. Service was excellent. A lovely atmosphere. Will be back again next year :)
I absolutely hate giving poor reviews but I was so so disappointed yesterday with Christmas dinner . The food was really poor especially the main course it tasted like old cookery taste and to be honest the whole table didn’t eat it . We then waited two and a half hours for the pudding which arrived as we put are coats on to leave because the kids had been extremely bored for well over an hour if not more. We did repeatedly ask but got no were and sat with the dishes for those hours . Honestly I love to hype up business and I love the lady who runs the Nelson but I won’t be back for food again and I’m going to cook a second Christmas dinner at home for the family. It’s disappointing when you save to treat the family and it’s organised so poorly. I understand busy but bad food and the waiting along with hours of our table full of plates and glasses just wasn’t worth the expense. Even going to make our own dinner today to make up for it , iv read a lot of people on Facebook had the same experience. No apologies , in fact my review is the only one ignored which is sad after spending 300 pound
popped in for a light lunch. Food was delicious and price was good. Was happy they had the Christmas menu out. Enjoyed a lovely Baileys hot chocolate with a mince pie. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent.
Today, a couple of family members and myself popped in for lunch. The place looks fantastic since the renovation, the staff were lovely and welcoming. I had the steak sandwich, and it was cooked beautifully, everyone else loved their food. Will definitely be coming back very soon.
