The old William IV pub is a delightful building, retaining all it's character from its heyday. We visited the Neopolitan Kitchen only once, as the service and food were awful. As we saw the restaurant had been re-named we thought we'd try it again. As we saw very positive reviews we were looking forward to it. We visited Saturday evening and were surprised to see it less than half full, so why it took so long to receive a simple starter of meatballs, we couldn't understand. Simple tomato sauce, questionable if it was fresh and the meatballs suspiciously like those in a supermarket. All obviously pre-made and could have been heated and served in minutes. The lamb cutlets were equally unimpressive with no seasoning, served with french beans and 'Mashed' potato??? Since when were mashed potato an Italian speciality? The paccheri pasta with Italian sausage and broccoli was uninspiring with the pasta too aldente' for my liking. On the plus side, the mushroom risotto was amazing and the side of zucchini fritters were very special. Beautiful old pub, sadly everything else rather lacking.
We went as a family of four for our sons 15th birthday. The service was attentive and accommodating to our needs. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly, would definitely come back.
Good food, good service and good prices. We found this place today as a last minute and have decided it's we're coming back next week as the menu is vast and plenty to chose from. The staff are super sweet and professional. Can't wait to come back!
