Really good meal here with friendly service (thanks Ruth!) and a delicious menu. We weren’t rushed and had a great evening. The dining room had a lovely atmosphere, bar area looked super too. Definitely a step up from average pub grub.

The Nags Head is a lovely pub with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. My friends and I visit regularly for a meal and a catch up. The food is delicious and the menu is varied. They also change it quite regularly which is great as we visit often so it gives us some variety. We particularly enjoyed our meals on Thursday evening. Two of us had the steak and merlot pie which was really tasty. One of my other friends had the fishcakes which she loved and said it was the best meal she had ever had at the Nags Head. We were served by Harley who was very friendly and efficient. He made sure to check everything was OK and that we had all we needed and were enjoying our meals. He was very positive and pleasant throughout the whole evening. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back!

**Updated, please see the end** Almost five stars but portion size let the side down also veggies were considerably al dente/barley cooked. However let’s not dwell on that. The food was to a very high standard my pie was delicious as was the salt and pepper squid starter. My other diners also enjoyed their food. It’s a cosy olde tavern style building and the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff when available were great in particular Anna was very kind and helpful, a real benefit to the team. I just wish there was a couple more Anna’s as we had to leave our table a couple of times to get drinks etc. I wouldn’t let this put you off. On the whole a great meal with family and friends if I little pricey. I have to upgrade to five stars! When our bill was presented Anna came over (she’s amazing) and asked if we could return it, we then then given a new reduced bill informing us that she was sorry for the portion sizes and also had forgotten to take off our deposit!! With this level of care and a reduced bill I have to give the Nags five stars and a tip of hat. Well done!

We had a family birthday with a group of 12 of us. We preorded from the all day menu. For starters the king prawns in marina sauce, garlic mushrooms, squid and artisan breads. All were well cooked and warm. We the had mains of lamb rumps, homemade steak and ale Pie, fish and chips. Service was a bit unattentive in terms of drinks, but Anna our hostess helped explain their was a shift change over which cause a lag in service (Anna was excellent). Things picked service wise when extra staff started. My issue with the food was portion control the pie, fish and chips were very generous and then the 24.95 lamb rumps was terribly disappointing in portion size 5 small slices of lamb which was nice but was far to small for the price and the five us were left feeling diddled and hungry. The king prawns again were small better to just say prawns as these were borderline (See photos). All in all a good meal but you can get better value in other restaurants for some dishes in London. UPDATE: We had money taken off the bill at the staffs suggestion over small portions which was a really nice example of proactive staff making good on a small problem. Thanks team excellent work!

Me and my fiance have eaten here twice now, we had a steak meal the first time, and the food was 10/10. Our second visit was Valentines Day, where the food again was exceptional but very slow service and had to ask for everything, slightly disappointing. The pub itself has a warm cosy feel and large car park if needed. If you're not in a rush, I would definitely recommend it.
