Nice and busy Wetherspoons in Cardiff Bay. Slightly more expensive than City centre Spoons but I suppose you don’t have many other options. Nice selection of beers.

Quite a large spoons with upstairs seating along with plenty of outdoor seating when the weather would be nice. Ordered through the app as usual and the drinks came with the food over 20 minutes later, now I don't mind waiting for food but I expect the drinks to come quicker like they usually do, also the glasses were dirty. The staff seemed a bit miserable as well which was a shame as they are usually normally jolly. Food and value is a good as always. Overall though worth popping in as you know what to expect.

Visited while in Cardiff. Standing alongside Mermaid Quay this is a lovely looking building and is very modern. There is a big floor area on the ground floor and although it is big and spacious with lots of tables and chairs, it did give me a feel of a canteen with all the floor to ceiling glass windows. When we dined there for our evening meal we are upstairs towards the back and it felt far more relaxed and comfortable and more like a spoons. Both our breakfast and evening meals were lovely and of high quality. There are outside seating areas that look over Cardiff Bay. Another great feature is the glass staircase which is very unusual. This building is quite striking when viewed from the bay and I would recommend a visit No parking on site as its in the bay area but there is one behind Mermaid Quay nearby.

Its position on the bay gives impressive views. Like many JD Wetherspoons, it's on two floors, with outside area on each floor. The bar area is decorated above in an eye-catching way, unusual in a Spoons. I liked it. I didn't eat, but the service was fine, with pleasant and helpful staff. As for the atmosphere, I was there at a relatively quiet time of day.
