We stayed for 6 nights in September 2023. Our room (Wallace) had a lovely view, but was in poor condition - bathroom floor cracked, Velux window very tatty, no over-basin light, no shelves; window seat cushion stained, cracked bedside table top; access via 4 flights of stairs (not mentioned on website), no lift; our early bedding request not acted upon (13.5TOG duvet in summer was NOT what we requested!!) Food okay but erratic service - breakfast tea and toast arrived well before cooked food... In the circumstances £160 per night was excessive, and the management has failed to respond to either my letter or email. We were very unimpressed and disappointed.
It could have been brilliant, but the rooms and bathrooms just didn't work. It's totally impractical and badly designed. Who uses a low tv stand for tea/coffee making table. No dressing table or suitable lighting. The bathroom was even worse, nowhere to put toiletries, no mirror except for a huge one mounted high on the wall and totally unusable. Couldn't even hang a towel near the basin or shower. Nowhere to put soap/shampoo when showering. There were great views from the room
Lovely food and views! We had the Baked Cod and a Steak sandwich. Both were brilliant, very tasty and plenty of it.
We attended with our children for our anniversary meal whilst on holiday in the area and I honestly couldn’t fault anything. The location is lovely, the decor and atmosphere is great, the service and staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful and really generous portions, the wine was great. Overall a very enjoyable evening and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
We ate here, very nice setting with views across the Irish sea. We ate outside as we had our small dog with us. Very comfortable outside area with heaters and sofas. The meal was very nice...I had the seabass and my husband had a good choice from the vegetarian menu, and we shared a lovely cheeseboard.. I felt it was reasonably priced too. Very enjoyable evening 😊
