Last Sunday, we visited Mottram Wood, which is one of our local pubs. Unfortunately, we had a less than satisfying experience. Including long waits, debris in our food and rude staff. We have a 1 year old and after our experience would not recommend anyone with kids this age visit here. We ordered 2 carvery’s, a kids meal and desserts. Firstly, more of an inconvenience for us, after ordering our carvery’s, we found out upon collecting our food there was no Turkey, which is the only meat my partner likes, so she didn’t eat much. We then waited 1 hour for our kids meal, which was 3 fish fingers, a slice of garlic break and some veggie sticks. I approached the manager on shift (man in green shirt with a beard), who stated that the chefs had accidentally burnt the fish fingers so would remake them. Not sure this took a hour to spot? Following this, we waited another 30 minutes for the food, at which point our little one was very hungry, so she was eating our carvery’s with us. We then awaited our desserts, cookie lava something or other. They arrived, with more waits. And then, as our little one begins eating, as well as me and my partner, she spits out what appears to be foil from the food. This was hard foil, (sharp edges) with sharp edges, sat on top of the cookie under the ice cream. Choking hazards, cut hazard and unhygienic. I raised this with the same manager who had little to no sympathy, stating ‘these things happen’. To which point he offered a free play voucher for the play centre, which was useless as we play for free anyway, due to our little ones age. He had no interest in hearing my request for a refund and seemed to be rude to other staff members who were trying to help us. Rachael, one of the waitresses was great, the only positive, she had a lot of sympathy and tried her best to help but unfortunately the rest of the establishment seems unwilling to have any organisation. I hope no one else experiences this here but we will not be returning anymore.

Stayed in Premier Inn as part of a group of 60, over for football Had breakfast and dinner on both days and socialised in Mottram Wood Pub. Great venue, friendly and welcoming staff Booked to come back in mid January - already looking forward to it Update Just back from spending the weekend at the football and 2 great nights at Mottram Wood Pub. Special thanks to Jess and all the staff for the warm welcome and excellent service over the weekend. This is our second visit now and the members of our club are asking for us to make this our permanent base, for our trips to Manchester. A good number of the club had breakfast and dinner in the pub and only heard positive feedback. Everyone enjoyed the Indie disco on Saturday Night, so thanks again for putting this on for our visit. Until Next Time❤️🤍🖤

We did breakfast with santa on Christmas eve and we will absolutely be going back every.single.year. First of all, the host (her name escapes me) was an absolute delight, when I told her my first name upon entry, she replied with my full name and told me she had the entire booking list memorised. Very impressive! The tables were set absolutely beautifully and all the Christmas decorations were stunning. The breakfast itself was a buffet style/help yourself type thing. Traditional hot English breakfast plus separate continental options including pastries, pancakes, Cereal, fruit, youghurts. Unlimited tea, coffee, fresh orange and Cordial. Bar was open too for additional drinks such as fizzy pops. The breakfast was gorgeous, the hash browns in particular were something to die for! Whilst we ate, Santa was roaming around the room and even sat by the tree for a bit for children to approach. After our plates were cleared, all children were handed beautiful stationary to write to santa! We were then invited to visit santa in his grotto and get 1 on 1 time for each family. As if this wasn't already enough, the children then got an hours play in the wacky warehouse PLUS a free return ticket for January!!!! Honestly, it was magical and the food was fantastic. Just pure happiness from start to finish. Thank you to everyone involved and for working so hard.

Adjacent to the Premier Inn, so great location. The online table reservation system worked very well. A very busy pub with lots of happiness and friendly staff. I tried the table ordering app and it worked a treat even easy to add discount codes. Service was excellent and food tasted very nice at a reasonable price. The carvery smelt lovely but had my eye on steak. Keep up the excellent customer service and great standard of food.
