It was just a few friends leaving work, so I went for lunch. I can't comment on the atmosphere no one was in at the time, but it was good as there were a few of us, and we had a giggle. The staff were friendly and it was nice pub food.
Ordered the chicken butter curry it was ok but for £14.95 I felt ripped off it was like a child’s portion compared to our friends meals, staff need to be more proactive we sat waiting to order a dessert but no one seemed bothered so went to the bar and asked for the bill, beans on toast when I got home, no apology manager not interested just fobbed me off. Won’t be going there again, Next time I’ll spend my money in the gardeners arms more value for money.
We had a fantastic 3 course christmas meal last night (23rd dec). The parsnip soup was one of the best soups ive ever tasted, the turkey dinner was excellent and the cheeseboard could have served all 3 of us but was only supposed to be for 1. Great quality, great portions, fabulous service, well done Moss Trouper
Another "Down memory lane" pub visit with Flic. Came here a few times back in 1974 - 75 when I lived locally and maybe once about 30 years ago. A J.W. Lees pub with excellent range of their real ales. Had a pint of their autumnal bitter "Bramble". Very good. Great value pub. Beer garden and car parks. Very pleasant visit.
