We spent a few days over Christmas 2023 at this hotel. Thought we would go away for Christmas this year for a change. Friendly staff & helpful. Food was lovely. The only three things that spoiled our stay was on Christmas evening buffet, was served to us on our table. There was only 3 staff serving. We had to wait ages for someone to serve us. Then when they did, we had no cutlery or any drinks on our table until the food arrived? I appreciate that this is a very busy time for the hotel? The service was really bad that night. More staff is required on those nights. On the morning we left, breakfast took ages. Had to wait in the bar, like Christmas night. Finally got a table, then waited ages to be served. Tge thing was, it wasn't that busy? We wanted to get away as early as possible because the weather was horrendous. Also our bedroom was cold. The windows need updating. They are covered in mould (pretty disgusting) for a four star hotel. A hotel with no stars shouldn't have this! Not acceptable at all. The wind whistled through them too. Health hazard! Our room was clean apart from parts of the shower & of course the windows. I noticed a lot of dust on the little red fire box next to the lift on the ground floor! We would come back if those issues were solved?

What an amazing place! Staff were very friendly and professional. We spent a day in the spa enjoying some much needed relaxation time and it didn't disappoint. Food was absolutely amazing. Great value for money!

We had a lovely stay, booking was quite hard work as every person seemed to say a different thing to me and didn’t note things down - they initially booked the wrong days etc and didn’t communicate between the spa and the hotel and restaurant that we had bought a package. The food here is lovely as are the rooms and the spa. The spa staff are really polite and good at their jobs. The spa has a lovely view and is relaxing. The hotel and spa had run out of spa robes the whole time we were there which seemed a bit silly as it is a spa hotel. There is also not many loungers in the spa, which would be okay if you had a spa robe so you could go outside, but as there were no robes we couldn’t do this and had no where to sit as everywhere was full.

Amazing setting. This luxury golfing hotel has been welcoming golfers and families since 1897. A Mrs Ellis built it and extended it from 19 rooms to 61 rooms in 1912. A great history awaits visitors and the current General Manager is also a lady. Outstanding views over the Moray Firth and a few hundred yards from the iconic Nairn Golf Club ( 1887 ) Excellent rooms, good food and wine.

As this is so close to Inverness airport, we stopped for a night before our morning flight to Shetland. What a lovely surprise. It is a very elegant, restored Edwardian mansion with a superb modern health spa, decent sized indoor pool overlooking the sea and wonderful food. Service was unfussy and excellent. The room was large, luxurious and with lots of nice details (like teacakes!) and a splendid free standing Bath. A brilliant hotel!
