Lovely pub! One can have a pint here with the full English breakfast at 9.00 in the morning, amazing! Beer prices are reasonable, polite staff, old folks nursing their drinks.. Might see some Chinese tourist enjoying the traditional English breakfast
Went for breakfast on Sunday. Arrived around 9am and the place was fairly empty but smelled lovely and clean. It was lovely and peaceful with no TVs or music. Just the sound of the air conditioning. I had the traditional breakfast with unlimited tea. Came to £6.50 and I ordered from my table with the app. Within minutes a friendly waiter brought me a mug and 5 minutes later my breakfast was on the table. Everything was very nice. Crisp hash browns, perfectly cooked sausage, bacon with some nice charring and a pot of beans. Eggs had lovely runny yolks. My only slight gripe was the toast was a tad cold and soggy. Could have done with a minute more on the grill but I like that the butter is served separately, in this Anchor butter. I don't like pre-buttered toast so this was a nice addition. It's a shame as the bread is a really nice bloomer. The tea is Tetley and perfectly nice. I had 4 cups. Sadly the peaceful atmosphere was shattered by a group of about 10 people who came rolling in shouting and swearing. I suspect they had not been to sleep as yet and were smashing down beer and wine at 930am. Sadly, that's Wetherspoons for you. I can't fault the food or service though which were excellent and for £6.50, you'd be hard pressed to find better value anywhere.
Great place for reasonable quality food for extremely reasonable prices. What's not to like. My daughter and i had set meals with drinks for under£7 each, jacket potato with 3 beans salad . Was good. Quantity was enough for me ( Ihave small appetite), but may be on the small side for an average person. My grand daughter had a small portion of spaghetti with chips and poppadoms 😁 😂. Paid £23 for three of us. Definitely visit again. Service is fast n good
This place and chain has lost it. They serve online orders worst than 3rd world countries pubs. Whiskey in tea glasses, cocktails in water glasses. I mean being reasonably priced doesn’t mean total degrade on other things. Have to find another spot now. Thanks JDW.
Excellent. The pub had a nice atmosphere, the staff were busy but still engaging. The place was impressively clean, including the tables. More so the food was great. Much much better than I expected from a few negative reviews here. Full marks. Enjoyed the visit.
