Great staff, food and drinks!đ definitely recommend coming heređ
We visit this place regularly. Great beer and good food. Great value for money. Always a good atmosphere like pubs in the old days. Bar service can be a bit slow at times. The one let down is that the whole interior could do with a makeover. It's beginning to look very tired, many seats having bad repairs, carpet looking shabby etc. Maybe the boss will read this and consider a re-vamp on the place.
The location is great right by the sea and by the pier, the pub was clean and tidy in fact probably the cleanest loo's i have seen at a wetherspoons and they where on the ground floor. Food was good but i have been to plenty of spoons as the service is always quick and you know what your getting but it was more warm than hot.
Absolutely shocking behaviour from some child behind the bar claiming to be a manager with a lot attitude, Me and my fiancĂ© popped in as our eldest is moving away so went to say a quick hello and bye whilst taking the our youngest and his friend to see the fireworks The child manager had said to my fiancĂ© no kids after 21:00 it was 21:10 I didnât hear this And our eldest was saying hello He repeated himself apparently twice more which then my fiancĂ© said she had heard him The kids waited outside of the beer garden by the gates. Me and my fiancĂ© went instead to order When the child manger ran over and said Iâm not serving you I asked why he said because we have kids with us And itâs his duty of care to safeguard the children and to not serve us.. When he didnât even know our order as my fiancĂ© was going to be drinking coke as she drives and I was going to have a Guinness He was very rude and I noticed his body cam switched off which shows all the more he was in the wrong This is Because he felt he was ignored when he mentioned no kids If this is whatâs managing the pub then they need new staff Iâve heard they have another woman manager who is a lot better Iâm looking to see if I can see her regarding her staff I uploaded pics of the jumped up mug
Great value place to eat and drink. Relatively busy but comfortable. Only dropped a star due to the ice scoops in one dish were melted when served but probably just a blip during our visit. Good location for the pier.
