About us

Welcome to The Midnight Bell. Located in Holbeck's atmospheric Urban Village – reputedly the oldest set of industrial buildings in the world – we are Leeds Brewery's flagship pub. With the perfect mixture of traditional and contemporary features our oak beams and ancient brickwork sit alongside a concrete bar and high wide windows. Add into the mix Leeds' best beer garden and we think we're on to a winner. We also pride ourselves on our brilliant selection of drinks and our constantly evolving seasonal food prepared completely from fresh using the finest ingredients Yorkshire has to offer. Here at The Bell we're all about simplicity, service, quality and most importantly; we're all about you. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Lovely pub with a fantastic atmosphere in a good location. Friendly, helpful staff. The Sunday roast was delicious with a good choice of vegetable and was excellent value - would definitely recommend. One of the party opted for a pudding - a Black Forest Arctic roll priced at £7.50, which was an utter disappointment. Very thin slice of ice cream with chocolate sponge around it and a spoonful of compote - no berries, unless they were mixed in with the cherry compote. Definitely not worth £7.50. Won't deter us from returning to the Midnight Bell - just won't be ordering puddings :)

This was my first time in the UK. I’ve heard about the meat pies here, but I’ve never had one before. The steak and ale pie here was DELICIOUS! If I’m ever back in town again, I know where I’m going!

Lovely date night meal. I reserved a table for two and it was a brilliant touch that our table had a named reserved sign waiting for us. My date was extremely impressed! Food excellent, could have ordered anything from the menu really the choice was outstanding. I recommend "the midnight bell" dark ale if your into real ale. Will be coming back 😀

The roast dinner has to be one of the best in Leeds. It's a bit on the expensive side (£18.50 + £5 sides), but the quality is there so I didn't mind paying for it. Roasties and meat were top notch, and it was a good portion. Staff were great and they have a really good drinks selection. Good for a cosy winters Sunday & worth a go in summer too as the beer garden is great. Edit: seen the pub replies to reviews - genuinely interested in what spice the red cabbage is braised in as it was amazing and distinctive but I couldn't put my finger on it.

There was about a hand full of people when we came in and found a table at the main bar area. Quitely having a drink when the flood gates opened up. The Leeds United game let out and this place got wall to wall packed with people. The back beer garden was overflowing. They didn't seem too upset the team will be relegated after today's tie with Newcastle (this visit was May 2023).
