Comfortable, unpretentious, cosy wood-panelled bar with numerous pictures decorating the walls. The front area looks out on to Leith Walk and the rear is divided into several smaller seating areas. The Real Ales are usually from smaller Scottish breweries. Student deals are available. Pizzas from Origano can be ordered from 5pm to10pm and will be brought to the pub. A quiz is held on Wednesday evenings and there's chess and dominoes available at other times. Children are not admitted.

Great time here and the owner loves serving a nice dark beer on a cold dark night.
Cool place, very nice feeling inside and out. Great selection of Beers and the pizza selection was impressive. Plus dog friendly.
Great pub with quality beer and good welcoming service! After years of living next to Germany, you can't beat a pint of Weihenstephan. I just wish they had the original Helles on draft as well. Haven't tried ordering pizza from next door yet, that'll be for the next visit!
I am very happy to call it my local pub. really nice atmosphere, good music all time and very honest prices for the pints. highly recommended!
Probably my favourite bar in Edinburgh and I visited a lot. Close enough to the centre to feel valid and far enough out to not be cliched or ruined by, well, tourists like me. Decent ambience, good selection of drinks and staff who add a bit of value above just serving food and drinks. If you’re staying out in the direction of Leith then this is an excellent place to start and end your night. If you’re not fussed about the mania of the city centre this is an excellent place to spend time.
