Now, I understand why you have to pay for food in advance, I think added picture can say for everything... It also would be nice if staff could ask how was it and not just take a plate with no word (the place was very quite)
Very cozy place. Nice drink selection. Had a beer called mangolicious and it actually was very mangolicious indeed. Definitely coming back.
Fantastic bar . Helpful and friendly staff with a nice selection of drinks. Staff were friendly upon approach . They have dog treats and water for the dogs as well which is a huge plus . Convenient location and child friendly for food service. Nicely poured drinks with a quiet atmosphere . A beautiful interior with lovely booths /stools and seating areas make this dog friendly bar a complete muse see when visiting Edinburgh or if you’re a local get yourself down here for a quick one. Tremendous place to visit.
Not sure what’s really gone wrong here but the Barony used to be one of our absolute favourites for a Sunday lunch. Came in today and the pics show the disappointing food. Steak & ale pie was rock hard & the mash was dry. The pigs in blankets looked anaemic and the bacon was chewy also. Really not what you expect when two lunches cost £40+. Not sure if new management or kitchen staff, but an absolute let down this afternoon!
What a great place to grab some pub fare and a drink. Not a very extensive whisky menu, but good beer and wine. Food was great. Haggis bon bons and Camembert were fantastic! We will be back for music and/or quiz night.
