Great sports bar with all sports on different screens. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced
Excellent Pub , superb atmosphere friendly bar staff, will definitely be back 👌 🍺
Probably the most aggressive and unwelcoming landlord Ive ever experienced. I went to watch the football in the Rose and Crown, it was 2 mins to half time and my team had just scored so I waited to see the replay. I then thought I'll wait til half time and then get a drink. The landlord then comes over, gets right in my face and tells me to leave as I hadn't bought a drink. Interesting, when you read the reviews on here, he's done exactly the same thing to other people. Nobody should be treated and threatened in this way, its aggressive, bullying and victimising behaviour and it appears to be typical of this landlord. He wont last long if he treats people like this
Absolutely baffling experience in this pub. First time ever going there to watch some football, enjoy a pint and catch up with some friends. We walk in, look for a table to watch the match and see some friends we know. We go and join them on their table and have some friendly chit chat when the landlord shouts over to us - something about a blanket(??). Confused by what he meant, we stay chatting thinking he is just having some strange banter. Money in hand, we were seconds from getting up to order a pint, when the landlord returns telling us we have to leave. Completely baffled and confused, the so-called friendly landlord says it is because we haven't ordered anything and there are regulars coming into use our table. We had been there no more than 5 MINUTES and the pub had less than 10 people in there, with a capacity of multiple times that. Even if capacity was an issue, there are certainly better ways of saying it. I never felt the need to order a drink before finding a seat in my life and certainly have never had a time limit to order one before being kicked out. Utterly awful experience, landlord clearly wanted to take his frustrations out on some "new comers", definitely friendlier places to go in Pontypridd. Under the railway bridge with the local homeless gentleman would offer a more enjoyable experience. 10/10 would not recommend (unless you order a pint immediately - the clock is ticking guys!!)
I was impressed with the covid security measure in place. It's not often that small community pubs are this strict but it made me and our family, who were there for a family wake, feel really safe and secure. Massive thanks.
