A stunning Georgian coaching inn set in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside.
Boasting bags of character, this cosy country pub with rooms and a gorgeous beer garden is set immediately beside the stately home and beautiful grounds of Corsham Court, and just 10 miles from the enchanting city of Bath. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious countryside getaway, or just fancy a pint of ale after walking the dog, you'll feel right at home at The Methuen.
Only stopped here for lunch. The staff were so polite. Standards are fabulous. The food was also brilliant. OH.... We had a Labrador wis us... We were all well accommodated. 👍
We joined Adam Henson on his first rare breeds supper pared with Butcombe brewery Ale. We were looked after from the moment we arrived, the food was probably amongst the tastiest we have eaten. Beer was as normal fantastic. Adam was a lot of fun and his chats between courses were all very interesting as were the ones about the ale. We came home very full and contented after a lovely evening out. Thoroughly recommend the evening.
Stayed here a few times for work and it’s always a pleasure to stay here. The Methuen is cosy, welcoming, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The little touches, sleep spray, ear plugs and gorgeous toiletries make it special. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend!
Historic hotel, lovely room, comfortable bed, and roomy bathroom. Complimentary organic toiletries provided. The only thing that would improve it would be a wardrobe. The breakfast range is really good and the food was delicious.
Myself and my friend came here for dinner, and overall enjoyed ourselves but found the service hugely lacking. The food was absolutely delicious, although the vegan meal my friend had seemed very small compared to my meal. The desserts were to die for! Great wine/drinks selection. However, we felt very let down by the service. On arrival, there was no warm greeting from staff. Following this we were put on a corner table in one of the back restaurant rooms, which was a beautiful room but as we were behind a wall it felt that we were largely forgotten about throughout our meal. It took a while for drinks orders to be taken (in the end we just ordered everything at once), and then the water we requested didn't come with the drinks, so we had to ask for it when our meals arrived. We asked for the bill, after trying to catch the attention of staff for quite a while to no avail, and then the bill still didn't come. Although they had time to stand and chat. So after sitting and waiting again we ended up going to find staff at the tills. The Methuen is great, and the food is always delicious. But this time the service just made the experience much less 'wow' and a bit more cold.
