Bustling beautiful large pub with a traditional heritage feel , yet fresh & modern , serving tasty hearty meals. The location is the most fabulous draw nestled right on the waters edge with plenty of outside tables well positioned to make the most of the glorious view of the clear water & characterful bobbing boats moored up. Our dogs were most welcome here although were not offered any drinking bowls or treats unusually especially as it was a warm day. It was really very busy on the day we came so service was quite slow yet polite : a 25 minute wait from starters to main, then another 20 mins just to try & order deserts, by which time we were too full to eat one. The sharing baked camenbert was by far the smallest I've been served in all honesty so don't share with too many ! Nice to have some different vegetarian choices with things like the veggie patty - style burger, really tasty. Overall , a great atmosphere, just wonderful ambience, stunning decor inside & out, great service, good food , good drink ,& most definitely worth the trip here. Advise booking as it really IS extremely popular. Revisited in September 2023 : Just as fabulous! Great service , relatively quick food service especially as it was unseasonably warm therefore busy. Four of us had a roast dinner, 2 of which were veggie with a mushroom Wellington which was absolutely delicious. I wish we could have had more ! High Rise Yorkshire puddings & very nice vegetables including roast potatoes of course. We all had puddings ranging from Raspberry cheesecake to chocolate brownie, white chocolate tarte to Creme Bruleè - extremely tasty! Just the ticket! You just can't go wrong coming here.

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Maybush on our wedding anniversary. We were fortunate to get a table outside, and the food and service were faultless. The fish and chips was comfortably among the best I’ve had anywhere, and my wife absolutely loved the cold fish platter which she’d had on a previous visit. She may have been able to finish it if we hadn’t ordered the super cheesy nachos to start.

A lovely family meal, we had reserved a table. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and caring, without being overbearing. The food was delightful, we had cold fish platter, white bait and fries, and a ribeye steak. Very tasty food, cooked to perfection. A nice view of the boats and river. Fairly priced for the quality of food, service and environment. Will definitely return!

This inn is a magical find at a beautiful scenic spot. The food is lovely with lots of vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The food is tasty and served beautifully. The service is good. The food arrives quick, hot and tasty. The seating is available both inside and outside. The outside seating provides some really charming views of the surrounding area - the estuary, boats, farms, crabby shores, and peaceful long walks along the protected wildlife area. Toilets are clean, parking is good - remember to get a refund on yours when buying food. We missed! Dog friendly place!
