Picturesque Camping site

We have always had a dream of running our own Camp site and have had plenty of experience running country hotels and restaurants, and finally we have our dream of all this rolled into one in the quaint little village of Odcombe. It is a picture postcard pub in a very pretty ham stone village in an area full of tourist attractions and places of natural beauty such as Ham Hill (where the stone comes from). We have been offered the amazing opportunity through Hall and Woodhouse to run and further expand an amazing village pub. We have been overwhelmed by the welcome we received from the villagers who have helped us to settle in and feel welcome since our arrival.

We hope the popularity of our pub will continue with the talents of our kitchen team coupled with attention to customer service from our friendly front of house team and not forgetting the conscientious efforts of our cleaning brigade! We trust that you will have an amazing experience with us, whether it will be in the Quaint pub, cosy comfortable rooms or on our beautiful picturesque campsite.

When you visit us I am sure you will experience the villagers welcoming and generous spirit whilst you enjoy a pint or two in the bar or stroll around the village itself. We will always make you welcome, but the soul of a pub comes from those who patronise it not just those who pull your pint!

Dogs welcome

We welcome your doggy companions and they are allowed in all areas of the pub so they can join you for a drink or a meal, as well as all of our accommodation and campsite. There is a dedicated and fully enclosed exercise area but we ask that your dogs are kept on lead at all other times around the property for the comfort of other dogs and guests. There is a nightly charge of £10 for dogs staying in our rooms or The Bolthole/Sheppard's Hut. This charge per night covers up to a maximum of 4 dogs per room, you will find the essentials provided such as dog beds and water bowls as well as a guide and maps so you can enjoy walking in our fabulous countryside. There is no charge for dogs staying in the campsite.

Nestled in a beautiful village, the pub has a lovely atmosphere. My ratings for the rooms is for our 1 night stay on the pub's campsite and its facilities - great! Friendly staff, and great service 👍🏻

We stayed on the adjoining Campsite and had a couple of excellent nights inside the Masons Arms. The staff were highly helpful and accommodating. Both the food and drinks menus were outstanding. We have already been back for a lunch after this trip and the service is still exceptional. It is a dog friendly pub which may put some people off but all the animals we encountered were on leads and very well behaved, i wont see this as a reason not to try the fantastic village pub. I would highly recommend a visit. A+

Lovely, quaint pub. Very clean and staff were kind and helpful. Large free car park. However, it is quite snug so not the best place to bring a large group of people. We had a group of 10+ and we were sat on two separate tables as they did not have space for a long table. We were not impressed by the food either. Very hit and miss. Their dessert menu also has an apple and elderflower cake, but this is actually a flapjack - just as a heads up as myself and another in my party were disappointed by the false advertising.

Sunday lunch was not good. Had to send the first meals back as they were cold. Quite a long wait for replacements and they were overcooked. Veggies definitely tasted as though they'd been pre-cooked and re-heated, the roast potatoes were enormous and very difficult to cut as the outsides were rock hard, again tasted re-heated. Didn't stay for dessert. Heard other diners passing similar comments. Such a shame, the staff were lovely

Stayed at the masons arms camping site. Great location for a quiet stay next to a fabulous pub. Very warm welcome when we arrived. The site and pub are very dog friendly. The camp site was very quiet during the day, fabulous for resting and relaxing. The pub food was very good, therefore we ate out most nights. There is a lovely walk, may not be suitable for some as it is quite steep, also a garden centre within walking distance. Only minor negative is the narrow entrance for larger motorhomes, especially if cars are parked opposite. We were fortunate that the parking spaces were empty, therefore only needed two manoeuvres to access and egress.
