About us

Welcome

You'll find a warm welcome here at The Martin's Arms.

Our beautifully tended garden has comfortable spacing to allow you to relax, enjoying a welcome reunion with family or friends.

On cooler evenings, find a cosy corner of the well-stocked bar and stretch out in front of the roaring log fires. The ancient Jacobean fireplace and hunting scenes on the wall remind the visitor of aspects of English county life which have changed little down the centuries.

The period furnishings of the Inn, the rich reds and beautiful flower arrangements exude a quality reflected in the food and drink. Note the many good food awards that adorn the mantlepieces, including Nottinghamshire's Dining Pub of the Year, five years in a row.

Wow, this place is such a hidden gem. Food is absolutely lovely, my boyfriend had katsu venison loin which was cooked beautifully and I had the beef burger. staff are great and they have a great selection of drinks. We went on bonfire weekend so after we finished our food we all went outside to watch the fireworks. Lovely.

The food is really good, especially the burger that has a hint of smokiness to the patty. We also had the “deconstructed” banoffee pie. The banana ice cream is a stroke of genius!!!

Lunch. In the beautiful beer garden. A little trip out to Colston Bassett Nottinghamshire's most expensive village. This is a very traditional pub. The Martin's Arms is a Grade 2 listed building. It is now in the hands of new owners. As it was a sunny day, we sat in their beautifully tended garden with our dogs. We just had a little snack. Sandwich Fish Finger, Tartare Sauce, Baby Gem £9. It was very tasty and filled with fresh fish goujons and served with salad & fries. Martins Arms Ploughman's Lunch, Pork Pie, Honey Roast Ham, Pickle, Stilton, Cheddar,Apple, Celery Grapes, Homemade Bread £16 Delightful and very filling. Looking at the main menu, we were very tempted but resisted and will definitely return to try some of the dishes next time In the meantime, if you're in the area and want a relaxed drink or something to eat, stop off here and support the new owners.

We made and unplanned stop for food and refreshments here and had an absolutely splendid time. Fabulous service and welcome, first class food and a wonderful selection of drinks are the minimum here, rather than the aim. The building and garden are superb and very comfortable and the car park is quite large. That said, we visited when it was quiet, but listening to our host, they do get extremely busy during their peak business. Such a delightful find and highly recommended.

Been coming here on and off for 8 years now as I love the old building and decor and the beer garden is a little bit of paradise - but not been for a while….. pleased to report the new owners have got it just right - superb bar food, friendly and efficient service and my favourite Nottingham EPA beer on tap and perfectly served. Will be back to try the restaurant side of things soon.
