Original Flava in da house! Top food, service and great location. Portion sizes spot on/generous plus a relaxed vibe overall. I'll be sure to be back to sample some more Jamaican yumminess!
I’ve been here 3 times and there is a common theme, delicious food but poor service. It takes far too long for the food to arrive with no communication in between, I visited today for a Sunday Roast with family and unfortunately the service was lacking, it didn’t even appear overly busy. We waited approx 50-60mins for our food to arrive which was sitting on the counter, when questioning the waiter his response was ‘it’s because it’s cooked fresh’. That’s not a reasonable excuse for a restaurant and for the lack of communication. Only when I went up again the food came 10mins after. We witnessed a group of ladies getting up and leaving the restaurant as no one had came to take their orders and they were just left waiting for ages, looking blankly trying to see if the staff would notice them. Our issue was resolved at the end with being granted a discount off our bill for the long wait for our food. Staff member admitted that they are slow on Sunday’s and are working to improve their customer service. I really hope the service can improve as I want this business to thrive, however there is a clear need for an implementation of strong leadership and direction in order to do so.
Booked brunch with my sisters @ Original Flava. Was not disappointed! All food was flavoursome and well cooked. I had a vegan starter of plantain channa roti dhal & curry goat as my mains. Absolutely scrummy! My sister's had prawns & saltfish fritters. Fritters were a little too crispy for my liking but the taste was good. The serving staff were absolute stars. Top marks for customer service. Definitely coming back to try the Carib-British Sunday roast.
Visited a few weeks ago. Heard mixed reviews about the food (mostly the roast) so wanted to try. I wasn’t aware they only did the roast on the Sunday… although it does make sense lol My waiter was Dillon who was extremely pleasant and polite. I came on a Thursday just before 8:30 and was able to be seated straight away. (Table for 1) I was not sure what to get so Dillon recommended the plantain loaded fries with jerk chicken. I have to admit I didn’t really read the menu however was shocked when the dish came as I expected both fries and plantain however it’s plantain fries lol The meal was okay however I think maybe better a a sharing plate rather than a main meal for one as it’s just plantain and chicken and cheese sauce lol. I look forward to returning to try something else. Also, the cocktail menu looked good. I got the piña and was quite impressed by it 👍
