The staff were really friendly, in the restaurant and behind the bar. We only had breakfast in the hotel but had a good choice between a full english or a bacon sandwich, among other things. The price was reasonable. The room in general was clean but as others have already commented the bathroom did have a little bit of mould on the silicone around the bath.The hotel could do with some new wallpaper and a lick of paint but all in all I would definitely stay there again.
The cleanliness of the room and en-suite was poor. The en-suite shower had mould on the shower head and it took 3 days out of the 5 we stayed there to get it cleaned. We also asked for a shower mat as the shower floor was slippery but we did not get one at all. It advertised there was shower gel included but there was not even a dispenser in the shower so had to provide our own until two days before we left, they then placed a dispenser on the floor. The breakfast was nice and well cooked but never actually got what was included in the price as what we got differed from the website. Our room had a chair that was so stained I refused to sit on it or put a bag on it. The mattress was well past it’s best and was difficult to get comfortable. The staff were very friendly and nice but they were let down by all the things wrong. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone sadly as the food was really nice
Loved this hotel. Great location, nice and quiet, room was lovely and came with a big fan which was super helpful in heatwave conditions. The value for money was second to none with breakfast included and excellent. Staff were brilliant and everything was swiftly done and very friendly. The attached pub is also great, you don't hear it in the rooms but you do benefit from a great range of beers and ales, decent food and live sport. I'll definitely be back if in the area. Thanks
Booked it as it was close to next day event - so one night & the location suited us. Free parking on site is always a bonus, but it's limited & 1st come basis. It was a budget booking & I was expecting something rather downmarket!! How wrong was I. It is a well run, clean, local pub that serves decent pub grub & does it with a smile. V friendly staff and a large room which was very comfortable. The place is surrounded by a busy road and suburban sprawl, so expect some nighttime noise especially in this hotter weather with the windows open. Beer was good as was the food. Breakfast was v good too - an all round good find. If noise bothers you at night, get some decent ear plugs. There was no noise from the pub. Separate reception entrance from the car park. Solid three star I reckon. Would definitely use it again.
Had a one night stay after a cruise. Old building, friendly helpful staff. Place is clean but in need of modernisation & some refurbishment, but value for money. Had a very nice meal, again value for money although as in most places, it's the drinks that are expensive. Breakfast was included and was very good indeed. Extremely pleasant service.
