About us

Stop off for a drink or a delicious meal and maybe sit beside one of the three open fires to take off the chill on a cold winter’s day.

Our homemade traditional food is served every day with our specials board changing weekly to add new variety to our menu.

Please come along and try out our beautiful Theakstons ales alongside our classic food. We will not disappoint!

We welcome all methods of transport making each and every person feel comfortable, with a hitching rail and trough to keep your horse happy and dog water bowls dotted inside and outside the pub. We also have bike racks and, of course, a large car park. Enjoy a walk up Goit Stock which is just across the road, making us the perfect location to visit after an afternoon of walking / riding / cycling.

We booked out the conservatory for a 70th birthday. The service, food and atmosphere was great couldn’t fault and would definitely use again for an occasion

Absolutely terrible! Food took literally hours to come out. Then one order was wrong! Management hid upstairs out of the way of complaining customers (including ourselves) leaving a young teenage/twenty something girl and a young lad who was off duty to take the flak! Wouldn't have paid but obviously I'm a mug!! Won't be going again!!

We invited our friends to join us at the malt yesterday for the Sunday roast. The atmosphere inside the pub was great, I had the beef Sunday roast and let me tell you it was amazing!! My friends had the turkey roast and they said it was absolutely delicious. Amazing selection of beers and a great menu for both adults and children. The staff are second to none and will go above an beyond for you! Thank you to Alex for a great evening!

Meeting up with friends for lunch. Service was good and they gave us time to chat before ordering. The conservatory room however was cold with no heating on and only one other couple eating there. The menu looked good but the food certainly did not match it. While my beef sandwich was good the posh fish finger sandwiches were far from posh, cheap fish fingers in cheap white sliced bread. The same bread was used for the cranberry bacon and brie sandwiches resulting in just a soggy mess. The accompanying chips contained a few edible ones in amongst in amongst some fatty crispy slivers . We decided not to risk any desert. It is such a shame that this wonderful building and beer garden is ruined by the cuisine.
