Former Reef restaurant opened as a micropub in February 2019 serving real ales, craft keg beers, ciders, wine and gins. Run by two enthusiastic real ale and cider folk.
A corner site with large picture windows on two sides for people and traffic gazing. Real ales sold through 3 handpumps on the bar counter and ciders on handpump and from boxes in the fridge. Furnished with high and low scrubbed top tables in a rustic style. Real ales major on Kentish breweries but ones from further afield will also feature.
Such a lovely pub. Go to it everytime we visit our daughter. Atmosphere is great x people so friendly. Interior is lovely. AND most importantly staff ste 👏
What a great micro pub this is. Lovely vibe and wonderful atmosphere. Live music was fantastic with the customers encouraged to join in. At least 6 beers from local breweries. This is a community pub, pop in for a pint and chat to the locals. Will definitely be returning here!
Superb service, excellent selection of beers and ciders (and a gluten free beer on Keg). Who can so no to a £4.50 flight of kentish beers? Looking forward to heading back
Wide selection of ciders ales and a few lagets too. The chandelier of beer bottles is very cool, very dog friendly, there were 4 dogs there at the time we visited, just sitting by the tables. Ours was offered complimentary biscuits a couple of times, which was a nice touch. Quite a few staff working, no queues, a bit outside area at the back at thd moment that is apparently linked to a building project that been paused by someone else. Lively atmosphere, very welcoming, great location, great value. Apricot cider from the fridge was lovely too, but I bet the mermaid over the road would have rather been in The Magnet....
I popped in to The Magnet and fell in love with the place pretty much straight away. The owners are both warm, friendly people and the atmosphere both cosy and inviting. They have a nice selection of ales, amazing pork pies/scotch eggs and tasty bar snacks. There is a wide variety of games to play including some old classics. They also have a bookshelf in case you feel like reading as you enjoy a drink. I can not praise the place enough.
