Extremely poor quality staff on the call - tried to book strathpeffer but A.he doesn't know where it is and secondly the price online is 47.00 and he wants to charge 52 calling it extras. Don't book here and don't trust the Manchester number It's a scam
Excellent service and one of the best places I have slept in the highlands. I recommend it 100% I have already stayed twice.
Arrived at the property and at first we thought it was abandoned, letters missing of the name of the hotel. Found the front door to be open so went inside. The place was dusty and looked like it was empty. The reception area was deserted and all the computers were turned off. We hovered about for 5 minutes before shouting "hello" several times. Looking around I found a small post it note advising to ring a mobile number. I phoned this and a foreign person with very little English answered and was shocked we were waiting in the lobby. We waited another 10 minutes for him to show up looking all bewildered. He said he didn't speak English and phoned someone else. He then put me on the phone and I was told 5 rooms were ready. We were then given 5 sets of keys and pointed to the stairs. We went up and the first thing that greeted us was flies. Lots of flies. We had a quick look around and the place was disgusting. Beds had massive dips in them, showers all grimey, doors not shutting and just terrible. We could also smell something in the air. My kids looked all scared and I decided not to stay here. We went into Strathpeffer and managed to locate another hotel. While they did some shuffling for us I went back to oyo and handed.the keys back and told them we would be cancelling the booking. They offered to move us into different rooms but there was no chance I was staying in what looked like an abandoned building. When we were all settled into the other hotel we went for a walk and talked to the locals about the experience and they couldn't belive the hotel was open due to the poor condition.... so please if you value your health and want a pleasant stay dont use this hotel
Had a lovely stay here on a weekend with my sisters. Room could do with updating and bed was hard but all in all was a great weekend. Staff were all very helpful and made you very welcome. Meals were all good and entertainment was fab would recommend it for future guests. Bit of a damp smell in corridors maybe need some shake and vac don't know if it's cause pool in main building.
At arrival, at the extension part of the hotel, the wifi was not working and the staff rebooted it successfully. At dinner and breakfast, food was not so great and the staff attention was only toward guests from a coache, we could not chose a table of our liking in the restaurant. However, the price was good. The room was on the "roof" on the second floor, which means I had to lower myself on my side of the bed and I hit my head at middle of the night. The bed was just okay and the shower was adjusted on a bad angle. Finally, there was bad soundproofing in the room I could even hear my neighbor peeing.
