Macgochans sits in the picturesque Tobermory harbour on the Island of Mull. Relaunched in February 2012 by Muileach Neil Morrison and uniquely designed by Ranold MacColl of Oban, Macgochans is looking to bring back and showcase the best of Island hospitality.
We have 4 custom built spaces for you to enjoy — The Restaurant Bar if you like to wine and dine in style, Bar-beag if you want to relax beside a peat burning fire with the finest of Scottish whiskies. The Function Suite for a real party with seating facilities for 90 or standing for 200. Last but not least is our Beer Garden that gets the sun all day long so guests can enjoy as time stands still in this tranquil Island setting.

Lovely pub in a great location. The food was very good, especially the pizza. Service and staff were great and wow, great value for money on spirits & mixers
Was greeted warmly upon arrival, sat at a seat and was given a menu promptly. Upon ordering, food was with us in no longer than 5 minutes. The fish and chips were beautiful! Ended up getting a mint aero sundae too, which was phenomenal! As a smoker, my taste buds aren't exactly optimal. So you can trust me when I say the food here is divine! Eating here is an absolute MUST! Our waitress was lovely and very friendly!
Honestly quite an experience, the food here was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the beer battered fish and chips, the salad was lovely. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Also recommend the cheesecake of the day (just so happened to be honeycomb) - it’s delicious! An overall brilliant experience!
We often visit here with my guests on our tours. It's a cool pub with decent food but it's suffering with recruitment both front and back of house I think. The Ranch burger was fine. A very dry patty if I'm honest, a tiny bit of cheese & slice of bacon and decent mushroom sauce. The coleslaw looked pretty naff although it tasted fine. Chips were good and the salad with dressing fine. I asked for the dessert menu (fancied the chocolate orange mud pie) but dessert means the staff desert !! Must have been break time because they all disappeared. I waited 20 minutes and saw no one outside where my guests and I sat. I had to get the 7.25pm ferry so needed to be away at 6.15pm and I gave up in the end. Had to go inside to ask for the bill and only one lady behind the bar. Overall it's just not on point and for a venue well regarded it's a bit 3 star today. I'll try somewhere new next time.
Ordered one starter and 4 mains. All came in good quality and in reasonable portion. Langoustine is particularly good. The pan fried sea bass is also awesome. I like the pepper and salt squid very much. We sat on the 1st floor with good sea view.
