Busy place and the food was surprisingly fresh for a carvery!! They were staff down on the bar area this evening and it was nice to see all staff mucking in ie, chef serving food & clearing tables along with a gentleman who looked like the boss and all with a smile!! Well done to all of you, we will definitely be returning. 👌🏼
Honestly the rudest staff ever. Not the first time I've been in and treated like I'm an inconvenience to their day. Seems to be a training issue as it's the majority rather the minority of staff who are like this. Come on Farmhouse have a word with your training team. Manners cost nothing. 29/1/2024 Additional review. Had a call from the Manager regarding my review, he was upset that my visit had been less than perfect and is monitoring the situation. Fair play Craig.
Great carvery pub but they now shut a 21:00 during the week I know this is the after effects from covid but this is the reason alot of pubs are shutting down. Some people like to go for a couple of pints at 9-10 ish. It's ashame I mean this type of pub will never be affected by missing out on a few pints sold but alot are going to the wall because they have no custom... well I look at it like this you can't make money if your shut... And I'm pretty sure when the neighbouring hotel isn't occupied by illegal immigrants and its a Haydock park race weekend in summer I'm sure they won't stop serving at 20:30.
Always like a cattle market and reminds me of weatherspoons food but does have lovely cakes which you can takeaway.
Food is delicious, Sunday lunch that you don't have to cook yourself always tastes nicer and even better with a cold beer. Decent sized location and plenty of seating, I would recommend booking in advance but I have also just rocked up and staff have managed a table for us. Downside is more often than not waiting for service for drinks, often not nearly enough people staffing the bar, waiting can get frustrating and queues for ordering can get pretty long at times. Overall good experiences hence the 4* but certainly room for improvement.
