About us

The Lurcher became a Free House in October 2017 when Sheffield couple Liam Casey and Alicja Horsfield purchased the property.

The Lurcher is a community pub set on the edge of Rainworth village in Mansfield. The National Cycle Route runs right by the pub, which makes it a great location to visit after a ride or walk. Muddy boots, cyclists and dogs are welcome in the bar and outside seating area.

The Lurcher offers a wide range of drinks including real ciders, wines and a large gin selection.

The Lurcher shows both Sky Sports and BT Sports channels on large screen HD televisions throughout the pub including two seating booths in the dining area. Split screen viewing is also available. So we can guarantee you won't miss a minute of the action.

The Lurcher also benefits from a popular pool table, darts board and bandit.

It's nice local pub, with reasonable bear and food. Introduce ordering at the table, and it would make the restaurant experience much better. Lovely restaurant area though! I understand they run some good events, but never been to one. Good community feel here.

A really good place to eat and drink, or to simply relax and socialise. pet and family friendly with a lush interior which is spacious with private seating areas and privacy to speak without being overheard. The drinks are poured well whether it be spirits lager beer or wine. I felt comfortable and relaxed with amazing bar service and friendly relaxed atmosphere. The Sunday lunch was epic with extras if you wanted it. Highly recommended.

It was a very quiet but quite sunny afternoon but there were only three or four people in the pub however the outdoor tables will neatly set out and clean and inside it was clearly well staffed, wealth stocked and friendly. Glasses were clean and there was a good selection of beer and lager on offer plus a very decent selection of none of alcoholic drinks and refrigerated bottles. Dogs are allowed inside but we did sit outside under an umbrella. Unlike many places the chairs were physical chairs not those fixed pub garden benches that you get your legs stuck in if you have difficulties. I do plan to go and eat soon and we'll hopefully be able to give it five stars

Re-opened after renovations recently so I called in for a quick pint after work with a friend. The decor is lovely, it feels very sophisticated. The food looked and smelled absolutely amazing I will definitely be trying that at some point. My pint was lovely too.
