Traditional british pub which is a 5 minute walk from King's Cross station. Pleasant atmosphere on a Friday evening & quite popular with both tourists and locals so it can get quite noisy. The steak and ale pie was a slight let down as the meat was quite gristly. However would strongly recommend the delicious karaage sticky chicken! Private venue room available for hire upstairs.
I was hungry but fancied a beer as well while waiting for my 2.30 train. I stumbled across this pub. And what a find! £12 for a vegan meal and a beer. In London. A very generous, tasty portion of food. And the waitress /bar lady was so helpful, attentive and cheerful. I'm surprised this place isn't packed with locals.
Been in a hotel nearby 2 times now (December 2022, New Year's 2023/24) and regularly visited this lovely pub. I can say that we tasted the better part of the menu and all of it was good and tasty food for a decent price. I'd recommend the Fish & Chips but the Pie is also very good. There's a good selection of different beers and ales, so everyone should find something at their taste. It's not a lively place, as in loud music, but rather a pub where people sit and chat. Which can get noisy at times nonetheless... Staff was always very friendly and welcoming. They seem to have some stability as well as we recognized several from 2022 still working there a year later (which is good!). Highly recommend this place if you're after a beer and a cha with you friends, possibly some good pub-food!
What a great pub in the heart of London. The people that work there were some of the friendly people we encountered in England. Their drinks on tap were numerous and their menu was full of great choices!
