One of the West Country's most celebrated Inns, a pub since 1680
Set in the quaint village of Hinton St. George, this chic 17th-century pub with guest rooms is also 12.4 miles from Yeovil.
The sophisticated, country-house style rooms feature exposed stone walls, antique furnishings and free-standing baths. There's also a refined loft apartment with a kitchen (including ingredients for DIY full English breakfast on the first morning), plus a living area with a log fireplace.
Breakfast is included. The traditional, rustic pub offers real ales, a gastro menu and a flower-filled beer garden.

Always a pleasure visiting here. This time I had the best pork I think I've had in my life! We are always made to feel so welcome and wish we were more local than we are, but we make the 40 minute trip whenever we can because it's so special! And Jon is a delight! Highly recommend!
We stayed at The Lord Poulett Arms last weekend and loved it. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Rosie who greeted us on Friday night and showed us to room and the two women working at breakfast. The room (number 6) was lovely and cosy with a roll-top bath and the food in the restaurant was excellent. I stupidly left my laptop behind in the bedside drawers, but it was found by Julie in housekeeping and kept safe until I collected it earlier today. I'd recommend The Lord Poulett Arms if you're looking for a welcoming base to explore Somerset. We'll definitely return (but I'll leave my laptop at home next time!)
Recently had a meal here to celebrate my 30th, on arrival there was a sign wishing me a happy birthday! (Thought this was a touch of class!) then to be taken to our table where there was a card from the staff to wish a happy birthday!! This was very thoughtful and genuinely very much appreciated. The staff were prompt, kind and very accommodation for myself my wife and my daughter, making us all feel very welcome. The chef (Connor) came out and made such an effort with our daughter that he even made up a plate of broccoli for her … to us this meant so much! Now on to the FOOD!! Nothing shy of incredible! Honestly I would put it down to be one of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Value for money I would say it hits the nail on the head for an all around experience. If I could rate it more than 5 I would!!
Genuinely one of the best pubs I have ever been to. The food was to die for, I had the hake and my partner had the burger. Both of us couldn’t believe how amazing every bite was. Drinks were wonderful, the Greek wine paired lovely with the fish, and I’d recommend the chocolate orange espresso martini. We wish this was our local! Thank you for a lovely evening!
If you're looking for a country pub in Somerset, look no further. We stopped for lunch on the way to Devon and had a fantastic meal (one vegetarian, one meat-based) and were very satisfied! Great service from landlord Jon and the wider team who were all lovely. Look forward to our next visit!
