Beautiful pub, great location, lovely staff. My family had a very enjoyable Sunday Roast here, it instantly became one of our favourite Oxfordshire pubs. My only suggestion would be for a proper vegetarian roast. It would be easy to keep veg/vegan wellingtons in the freezer and do those in place of veg sausages, it's rare to find a pub without a veg roast option now. Still 5 stars anyway!
We love this pub - such nice people, very dog friendly. The food is really very good not cheap but worth it. Beer well kept, cosy atmosphere, easy parking
I am blown away by the consistent quality of the food at the Nelson. I’ve had dinner here three time and breakfast twice. Every time, it has been delicious. Nothing is “fancy” but it’s clear that every dish is made with care using good produce. It just feels like the Nelson version of every dish is somehow 20% better than the same dish you find elsewhere.
What a great place! Went to a small classic car meet on 14/10/23 great service and the best bacon bap I have ever had, very friendly staff, will be back to try more on the menu.
Lovely pub with a cosy atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Food is a bit above average in price but good quality. I like the decor choices inside. Wish they would prevent parking out in front of the pub.
