Everytime ive gone there in the past few weeks (4 times), they have 'just stopped serving food'. I asked the girl behind the bar the other night what time do you stop serving she said 19:00. Ive just been back in at 18:30 and the man behind the bar said they've already stopped for the evening. Either serve food in the early evening or dont.
Lunch waited ages. Room basic but okay. Karaoke went on till 12am and was very noisy so couldn't sleep. People on walk through outside very noisy till very late although that is beyond pubs control
This is a hard one because some of the review is about the location. Start with the hotel. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. It faced onto the walk through where a light shone into the room all night. Being Saturday, all the drunks seemed to stand in that location and let everyone know they'd had half a glass of shandy. This went on until 2.25 in the morning. The food was good but took a long time to come. We didn't eat there in the evening. Some of the staff were very nice but a man and one of the women who worked there gave you the impression that they were not happy in their job. May have been one of those days. A young lady was told not to help a young man who was working in the restaurant because it wasn't her job and he'd never learn. The pub is a nice pub but unfortunately in that location it's not for us.
Went to the quiz night for the first time. Made to feel very welcome & had a great time. Stef the quizmaster was absolutely brilliant. Definitely recommend.
To be honest we have never been to the Lord Nelson before, but I am so glad that we tried it. The landlord and staff were very friendly and helpful. The roast comes in a variety of sizes and the quality of the food was wonderful. It is fantastic value for money and we will definitely be going back again next time we are in Brigg.
