The Lord Eldon is a traditional pub that is over three hundred years old. We are situated in the town centre of Knutsford, just a stones throw away from Tatton Park and a local play park, duck pond and playing fields that is collectively known as The Moor. Knutsford itself is easily accessible from the M6 motorway if you exit on junction 19 and it is on the Chester to Manchester train line.

Consider a tour of Tatton Brewery to learn the fascinating science behind brewing. If you call Gregg at the brewery he will be happy to put on a tour (when they're not busy brewing) followed by samples of their freshly brewed beer. After building up an appetite at the brewery follow that by some locally sourced, home cooked food at The Lord Eldon. A local bus can be picked up in the town centre for the short journey between pub and brewery.
The Lord Eldon has all the features of a "proper pub", wooden beams, snugs, tap rooms, games room , bar area and dining room. You can join in the banter with the many local characters in the bar area or hide away with a quiet pint and a newspaper in the snug. If it's a rare sunny , summer afternoon, enjoy it in our large beer garden at the rear of the pub which is a fabulous sun trap right into the evening. If it's the usual rainy "barbecue summer", smokers are catered for by two large, heated smoking shelters. In the winter the pub truely comes into its own with a roaring log fire in the main bar area, a welcoming sight if ever there was one.
In the evenings we offer entertainment throughout the week; Monday nights are Quiz Night; Wednesday nights are Nuts Poker Night; Thursday nights are Open Mic Night, hosted by the gifted singer/songwriter David Boardman; Saturday nights are Live Band Night, with a range of styles from rhythym and blues to rock, on to soul or folk music. Please ring on the day before travelling as on very rare occasions a band may have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Lord Eldon is the only pub in Knutsford to have been entered into "The Good Beer Guide" EVERY year for the past six years, a big thank you to the CAMRA members who have voted for us over the years.

What a beautiful pub with friendly and hospitable staff. The landlady is wonderful, an ambassador for Knutsford. We sat by a roaring fire and were made to feel incredibly welcome. Don't leave Knutsford without a visit!
14/10/23: great rustic locals pub. Lovely little nook in the games room. Great for a pint of Guinness and a game of cards.
One of few proper "old school" traditional pubs. Great beer with a good atmosphere, pleasant service. An ideal place to take a foreign visitor the unique British pub experience as I have done several times. Dog friendly.
Lord Boothroyd decided to visit Lord Eldon in this Tardis like pub. Rooms to the left of you, rooms to the right of you rooms in front of you as Lord Tennyson once wrote. Lovely pub. Loads of character. Only 2 real ales. Tetley bitter and Adnams Ghost Ship. Another 3- 4 and it could be a contender for top 20 all time. No food but pool room and courtyard beer garden. Great find. Been in many Good Beer Guides.
The best pub in Knutsford no competition! Great beer, very english, great people both in front of and behind the bar. They also show all the major and some minor sporting events. All in all a brilliant pub!
