Booked a table for two online, when we arrived we were seated at a table which we found out later was where diners are placed when they have a dog with them, if we had known this at the time we wouldn't have booked. The wife suffers with a pet allergy. The waiter was lovely but I found him a little too pushy, I ordered the Ribeye steak which was very average and my wife ordered lobster which was ok.

Only 3 stars?? Shocked. One of the THE most fantastic places we have stayed. Could not have chosen a better place to stay. The staff, the service, the food, the cleanliness and the atmosphere. Loved it. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay again. Thank you for a marvellous stay

We called in as a party of four with a dog for lunch on Saturday after walking from Beadnell. We didn’t book and chanced our arms. It was very busy but staff were super efficient and very welcoming. We were seated in a lovely room with other dog owners and were treated brilliantly. Service was efficient but not rushed and we were made very welcome by all staff. Our food (off the lite bite menu!!!) was superb - all freshly cooked and great portion size. Fish finger Stottie was excellent. We enjoyed both our food and the lovely staff. We have been before and we will return.

We ate here for lunch on Saturday as a family with our 5 and 2 year old. From the outset Ryan who served us throughout was outstanding. He was welcoming, amazing with our children, helpful and polite throughout - the best service we have ever had in a restaurant/pub- which was down to him. He went above and beyond. The food was lovely and came quickly. The pub modern and clean. We will definitely be returning.
