When you step through the door of The Lord Clyde, you will find yourself a world away from theme pubs. Instead, you will find traditional decor featuring gleaming brass and handsome mirrors, walls lined with prints and photographs.
The Lord Clyde is tucked away right at the heart of the ancient Borough, where 2,000 years ago the original Roman road ran north to the city of Londinium. Even surronding street names will give a flavour of our historical associations: Tabard, Little Dorrit, Copperfield, Pickwick, Mint, Quilp, Lant, Weller and Marshalsea.
The licencee's and The Lord Clyde itself add some history into the area. An inn has stood on the site of The Lord Clyde for over 300 year. The present building, with its unique faience facade of glazed coloured earthenware tiles, today remains all but exactly as rebuilt in 1913. Also the Fitzpatrick family have been at the helm of the pub for 50 years, spanning three generations. In 1956, Denis and Molly took over the tenancy, to which their son Micheal succeeded in 1975. The pub in now in the hands of Michaels son Martin and the warm hospitality, fine ales and hearty home cooked food that have become a family tradition for 50 years are still going strong today.

What a fantastic pub and a must to visit. Great decor and old school red carpet. Great service and conviently placed.
What you would call “a proper pub”. Friendly service, decent food, footie on the tv.
A lovely pub. I love the carpet and the vibe. It used to be my favorite in London, BUT prices are now very high. I visited 20 London pubs over four days and this pub was the most expensive of them all. I had a meal. Quality of food was so so..
Was decent value and tasty, now expensive and average. Pie and Mash, Pies are no longer proper pies but meat in a bowl with puff pastry on top. Gravy is runny and tastless compared to red wine and onion you used to get and the mash...we'll they didn't have any so I have chips. All these negative changes and the price has gone up. Would have given 3 stars but pie, chips and a pint for £21 is way too expensive for what it was. There's a lot better and cheaper elsewhere in the area
Outstanding, classic pub in a quiet, nice neighborhood. The kind of place I would love to have as my local drinking establishment. Came in the early afternoon on a Saturday and they had all the appropriate sports on the TV. Families slowly streamed in. Seems like the perfect spot for everyone in the area. Every room inside was comfortable. Even the bathrooms were great. Bartenders were very friendly and poured a good pint. Landlord on cask is a winner for me!
