This was the worst hostel I've ever been to. My friends and I didn't enjoy our stay here. We remember this hostel with fear, although we were only here for one night. We were in a 12-bed dormitory room. As soon as you enter the hostel, you first go to the reception, which is combined with a bar. Then they tell you how to get into the room, give you a code for the door (near the pub) and tell you the room. And when we already entered the room we were completely horrified, an old small room for 12 people, dirty, noisy, stuffy (only a small window opened in the room). And in general it was scary to sleep at night. You have a locker but you need your own padlock which is very strange. The shower and toilet were tiny, old and very dirty. Towels are paid. We took ours. Breakfast is paid, downstairs in the pub, but we didn’t try it so we don’t know if it’s tasty. Not recommended even for one night. I travel a lot but have never experienced anything like this. I advise you to make cosmetic repairs in the hostel, update the rooms - furniture, mattresses, etc., put the showers and toilets in order too. Just make fewer beds in the rooms, because 12 people or more in a small room is too much. Clean more often. The hostel is in a good location from bus stops and the metro.
Really nice and quaint hostel in the centre of London within minutes walk of all the best sights and tourist attractions. Zu is the nicest person I’ve ever met and her hot chocolate is out of this world! I would recommend visiting just for the hot chocolate and the experience
Such a cozy hostel!! It really is amazing how cheap this place is and still so close to everything. The staff are super friendly, especially George at the bar and Ben who checked me in, they even remembered my name and asked how I was doing which I thought was kind. overall love this place, such nice chill vibes day or night, and it will be my home whenever I have to travel to london!
I enjoyed my stay. I have read a lot about the bed bug problem. They are actively working on it. They obviously don’t want them there either. Twice I was shut out of my dorm so they could do pest control. The dorms are just okay and the bathrooms are tiny. I was assured these were being addressed as well through renovations. Where this place shines is in the friendly staff. Reception to cleaning are all very friendly and accommodating to respectful guests. It’s not a 5 star hotel, it’s a hostel. Will stay here again in the future for at least a night, and a pint at the pub.
The crew was really nice, atmosphere was good. There is room for improvement tho: rooms are really tiny for the amount of people that stay there. Showers and toilets are also too small. The water beams from the shower were basically too soft to have a good shower. Quality of the beds was not so good. I could clearly feel the metal supports from the frame during the night.
