As someone well acquainted with venues in the Battersea area, Vinos y Licores has retained an unrivalled bar experience. Its staff keep a consistent tenet of accommodating its regulars and newcomers alike. What appears quaint presents a lively atmosphere thanks to such an approach. From management downward. Even in the less busy seasons it is always nice to stop by for a drink, while during more hectic service days you can never say it isn’t fun! Highly recommend coming for social drinking outings which are very much the speciality of the place. With many bars, pubs and restaurants struggling and closing down. Vinos is one of the few ports of authenticity in the area these days.
Great hang-out for locals. Great spot if you have just moved into the area and want to socialise. The team is also very warm, friendly and engaging. After a couple of visits, they make you feel at home. The range of drinks is somewhat limited, but the essentials are right. I can’t think of a better bar in a mile’s radius. Went for a friends birthday drinks as she is local and unfortunately had an awful experience. Such a shame as it's in a lovely spot and has great potential. Staff were rude and entitled, felt like I was interrupting any time I went to order a drink, they mostly sat around chatting and watching customers, made for a rather uncomfortable experience. They then had the audacity to try and charge me £55 for three drinks and when questioned, acted as if it was a mistake, yet continued to do the same to other customers. Also they add 15% service charge onto every transaction. Would be more than happy to tip off my own accord if the service was actually any good. Will not be returning, ever.
You need to be very careful when paying your bill here as they will try and rip you off. I’ve experienced this first hand twice with a group of friends and after speaking about our experience, have heard dozen of others have experienced the same thing. The staff tried to charge us all service on top of our bill that we paid for separately, even after we asked to pay a specific amount. It seems as though they were just adding on extra money to each of our bills, even though it was just drinks we had ordered from the bar. When I went in to buy three drinks, they tried to charge me an extortionate amount, and when I questioned them, they got flustered and apologised as they must’ve ‘put in the wrong amount’. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely bar in a great location, just unfortunately have had a few bad experiences with being overcharged, and it seems as though they know what they are doing. They also seem to have charged us all slightly extra for each drink that it says on the menu.
I've been there for a birthday party, the owners are nice, the place is in front a paved area with outdoors seatings and the threes to protect you from the direct sunlight what it makes a really nice place to spend with the friends during the summer ... but paying £7.70 for a pint is too much for my or any standard! Also other drinks above average in price.
