🚇 Clapham Junction 🍺 £5.10 Fosters ❤️ The Friendliest Battersea Boozer. The Union is located close to Battersea Park in the northwest corner of Battersea. The nearest station is Clapham Junction, it’s a twenty minute walk to get here. This pub was originally a Watney’s house and was built in 1848. The pub started life as The Union Arms, the name has been simplified to just The Union. This is a bright and airy one bar pub that has a modern neutral feel. At the centre of the pub is a lovingly maintained traditional servery with unique diamond motifs. The seating is a mix of comfy sofas, bench style poser tables plus some low level tables and chairs. There is an elevated section which has a pool table, at the opposite side of the bar is a snug area with a dart board. At the back of pub is a large beer garden for the warmer months. The beer line up was full of familiar favourites including Guinness but no cask due to the lack of demand. I decided on a pint of Fosters, my pint was excellent and pleasingly cost just over a fiver. The pub doesn’t serve food at present. I arrived around 4.30pm on a pleasant Saturday afternoon in October. The pub was fairly quiet with a few loyal locals in attendance. The atmosphere was upbeat, there were a couple of fellas playing pool and a few other punters dotted around the bar. The service was great, I received a warm welcome and felt immediately at home. I got chatting to a few locals about football and some local pubs that have closed down nearby. I have to say this is one of the most friendliest pubs I’ve visited, such lovely people. The pub hosts a Quiz Night on a Thursday and also shows live Premier League games. The @unionbattersea was bar far my favourite pub I’ve visited in Battersea. It’s a welcoming place to spend time in and the locals are welcoming and friendly. The beer is reasonably priced and there’s plenty to keep you entertained. This pub is a fine example of how a pub should be, get it on your list. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 28.10.23
Real pub, real people. Highly recommend. Very friendly.
An old school pub with a pool table and big garden. Staff are lovely. Good place for a party. Very accommodating
Friendly, locals pub with pool table, but there are no ales, so only 3 stars from me. Peculiarly none of the tables and chairs face the screens if you're trying to watch the football.
Nice people, nice atmosphere, reasonable price and dog friendly. We love it here very much.!
