About us

The Leyton Star offers a number of weekly promotions including Thursday nights ‘two for one cocktail’ offer, as well as housing a great selection of wines, kegs, cask ales and lagers. We have a programme of monthly tasting sessions and cocktail masterclasses will feature as part of a fun-packed programme of events which includes Tuesday quizzes, DJs, sports screenings and everyone’s favourite Lucky Voice Karaoke.

Hackney-based artist Lady Ray added her creative flair to the interior, having previously worked her magic on the decor of both The Star by Hackney Downs and The Jackdaw and Star. A mix of the classic and contemporary, the main bar has been painstakingly resurrected, quite literally returning from the ashes after having been ripped out and dumped in the cellar. The space has been completely redesigned with brand spanking new carpets and banquettes, stylishly surreal wallpaper by Timouros Beasties adorning the walls and a re-commissioned fireplace.

The sprawling outdoor terrace at the rear is decked out with two golden palm tree light fixtures used as part of a set design used on Paloma Faith’s Fall To Grace tour, purchased in a charity auction. Boasting a sea of seating areas, including a raised section with 8 private heated cabanas and a small function space.

We had a great evening with food and karaoke. The staff were accommodating and really helpful. Would recommend to anyone trying to organise an event to use this venue. The manager was top class also in helping out in any situation.

Ordered three simple hamburgers and an hot dog. The hamburgers were wrong, totally burned and just uneatable. When I pointed it out to the crew, I hadn't any explanation or excuse. In my holiday in London I experienced very good pubs with excellent food, but definitely not this one.

Had a great time here before an Orient game in December. Great beer selection, plenty of screens and nice food. They suffered a power cut in the evening and made it really simple for me to get a refund on a load of food I’d ordered. Will definitely be back.

Nice pub and friendly staff, with a nice outdoor area. The burgers are basic but tasty, and the Sunday roast was nice but the veggie option was just a piece of pumpkin which was a bit disappointing. Great that you can order a smaller half portion! Lots of screens showing sport when it’s on.

Very sad portions for the price. Chips were £4.50! And such a small portion, plus they were meant to be rosemary fries and they were plain. The burger was about £12 and came with very poor presentation. Two meager bacon strips, no tomato or salad, no fries. Guiness is £6 Would not recommend eating here.
